Standards & Documentation
The frameworks that made 80+ people make better decisions independently — without needing to ask.

The Problem
When 80+ people across multiple markets are making editorial and design decisions independently every day, inconsistency is the default. Without clear standards, quality depends entirely on who happens to be working that day.
What I Built
The frameworks and decision tools that aligned the organization on how to do the work: a company-wide coverage guide for non-editorial departments, a story decision flowchart for editorial independence, production diagrams showing why deadlines matter, and the CI Simple style standards rolled out across all publications.
What Changed
Decisions that used to require escalation could be made independently. New staff understood not just what to do but why, which meant the standards actually held.
